SILVER SPRING, Md. — The General Conference has weighed in on the Marvel Studios announcement that Natalie Portmam will play Thor in the upcoming franchise installment “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
In a statement, the GC said that although big wigs were OK with Portman being commissioned as Thor, a non-compliant ordination as the superhero was simply out of the question, no matter how you read the original Marvel comics.
The statement added that Portman would need to carry a smaller hammer than a male Thor and her hammer would have to double as a rubber stamp.
