SILVER SPRING,Md. — In a renewed push for caffeine-free coffee alternatives, the General Conference has purchased the roasted grain beverage brand Roma.
However, because of concerns that the drink powder’s name would sound too much like an alignment with Rome and the Vatican, the GC announced plans to rebrand the drink as “Silver Spring.”
GC Brand Ambassador Redde Buhl said that the new name of the drink “gets rid of confusing Catholic connotations and is both fresh-sounding and geographically-updated.”
