GC Stewardship Department employee wins Maryland Lottery

SILVER SPRING, Md. — The winner of the Maryland’s most recent Mega Millions Lottery jackpot has released a statement saying that he is “at once the luckiest and the unluckiest man in Maryland.”

With a $150 million win it is not hard to determine why office cubicle worker Mah Lejemplo might consider himself lucky. “The awkward part is that I work for the General Conference Stewardship Department,” said Lejemplo.

Since news of his spectacular win started to spread this weekend, Lejemplo has repeatedly stated that he does not make a habit of buying lottery tickets and that when he does he always makes sure to at least spare a dollar bill for the offering plate.

Lejemplo has yet to detail how he will spend his money although he said there was a good chance he would not be reporting to his cubicle come Monday morning. “I’m pretty sure I’m out of a job,” he added.

GC senior leadership are reportedly debating how to handle the wayward employee. Sources close to the discussions say Lejemplo’s fate hangs on whether or not he plans on paying tithe this month.

  1. That’s quite a clever name for the GC office cubicle worker, “Mah Lejemplo.” Although he is a “bad example” of the church’s stance on buying lotto tickets, it’s interesting that “Lejemplo’s fate hangs on whether or not he plans on paying tithe this month.” Reminds me of the GC’s history of turning a blind eye to a certain snack cake business owned by an SDA who brings in a hefty tithe, even though how the snack cakes are hardly a good example of the “health message.”

YOUR ON THE RIGHT TRACK. RECENT STUDIES SHOW WINE, DARK CHOCOLATE ARE GOOD/BENEFICIAL FOR YOU IN MODERATION….. HMM MODERATION WITH ALL THINGS.
TOO BAD WE SDA DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THIS CONCEPT.
IF WE MODERATE IN FOOD, DRINK, DRESS, WORK, PLAY, JEWELRY, WORSHIP ETC WE MAY NOT BE HUNG UP ON WORLDLY THINGS AND FOCUS INSTEAD ON JESUS.

Don’t forget the healthy benefits of indulging in some delicious Kentucky FriChik’n. In moderation, of course… unless you feel like having a little more… but you can make up for it by eating extra Veggie Links next time!

This guy had better pay the 10% tithe on his winnings. Wonder if the SDA church will accept his tithe unlike that other guy in West Virginia a few years back. Think what benefits the GC could use with this unexpected windfall. Could be used to pay off the next GC session in Indianapolis. Pay a few salaries to new pastors. Pay off the school debts in a few SDA church schools. The list is endless. Hey, Lejemplo-get in touch with me. I have a family member who is a CPA. We can “multiply” your blessing right out a window!! Let us open your window!!

WHAT DO YOU MEAN “BETTER”, THE NEW TESTAMENT CLEARLY STATES GIVING IS PERSONAL AND OF FREE WILL.
GOD IS NOT A GANGSTA COLLECTING CLUB DUES. THE CHURCH MAY HAVE TAKEN ON THAT ROLE BUT NOT GOD.
      REF: 1 COR. 9:7 2 COR. 16:1-2

HE DID IMPOSE THE MANDATED GIVING ON THE JEWS, BUT HE ALSO COLLECTED ON PROMISES WHICH ARE INSANE FROM OUR POINT OF VIEW.
REMEMBER THE MAN WHO PROMISED TO GIVE TO GOD THE “FIRST THING THAT CAME IN? IT WAS HIS DAUGHTER, SHE WAS SACRIFICED A FEW MONTHS LATER.

IT WAS A HARD WORLD BACK THEN. SPECIALLY FOR WOMEN.
